I feel like it was just yesterday that I officially started this journey on the Weltwärts programme me. One of the first challenges I faced was navigating the train system in Germany. But guess what? Over time, I've not only figured it out but also realised how surprisingly useful this skill has been throughout my travels across Europe. Who would have thought that conquering the intricacies of a foreign train schedule would empower me to explore various corners of this diverse continent? It's a testament to the rewards that come with perseverance and adapting to new environments.

Speaking of adapting, let's talk about food. Back home in South Africa, meat has been a staple in my diet for as long as I can remember. However, my time in Germany led to a profound shift in my relationship with meat. I discovered a new way of understanding food, embracing the concept of not having to consume meat every single day. Through exposure to different culinary traditions and a heightened awareness of sustainability, I've developed a healthier and more conscious approach to my eating habits. Walking has also taken on a new significance in my life. The energetic pace of life in Köln, along with the city's pedestrian-friendly layout, has reshaped my attitude toward walking.
