Since part of the problem is that the big decision-makers in the EU institutions are not listening, we will need to get organised right across the continent to make sure that our demand for democratic change in Europe is impossible to ignore. That’s why we are writing to you today. Democracy International is calling on creative, enthusiastic and politically engaged people from all over Europe to take part in the very first Action Day for a democratic Europe on the 17^th May. Together we will build the network and draw attention to our collective demand for more democracy in Europe.

Whether you are already politically active on democracy issues or just interested in supporting the cause, there are plenty of ways that you can get involved in making a compelling demand for a better Europe - a Europe that really responds to the needs and aspirations of the people. We are working with partners on street actions, political salons, debates with politicians and building pressure on candidates for the European Parliament, and we want to hear your ideas about what kinds of activities would appeal most to you and your community.
