Apply for a grant to attend the Global Forum in Taichung! Send us your video to win a grant to participate at the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy and the pre-forum briefing tour on direct democracy in Taiwan – Taiwan Democracy Train. Democracy International will sponsor grants for: 15 participants from South and East Asia (full list of countries here) up until 300 euros 5 participants from the rest of the world up until 1000 euros We are especially interested to hear from young activists and researchers in the field of direct democracy. The application process:

1. Send us a video, not exceeding 1 minute in time, detailing your work on direct democracy and what participation at the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy would mean to you. In your email, mention your full name, your date of birth and write a short statement, no longer than 100 words, on what direct democracy means to you. 
2. All submissions will be published on our website on 1 August 2019. Submissions that arrive after this deadline will be published within two working days.
3. People can vote for your video until 21 August at noon CEST.
4. The submissions with the most votes (20 from South and East Asia and 10 from elsewhere) will be invited for a video interview with the jury, which will take place on 26 or 27 August.
5. The jury will choose the final 20 grantees (15 grantees from South and East Asia and 5 from the rest of the world). The names of the grantees will be announced on 1 September.
