The Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy ventured to Eastern Europe for the first time, hosted by Europuls, the European Expertise Centre, in Romania. Bucharest welcomed over 300 participants from around the globe to explore issues of direct democracy, with a particular focus on the theme of trust. Special attention was given to elections, marking 2024 as the biggest election year in history, and to the crucial role of youth in advocating for and sustaining direct democracy, highlighted by the significant participation of young people at the Forum.
