"Democracy, to paraquote Oscar Wilde, should not have to take up too many evenings. However it does require that citizens be aware of the issues going on around them and that they make sure their voice is heard in those matters that are important to them. This has been too difficult for too long, but with the proliferation of mobile phones, it is becoming easier to communicate fast and effectively.

Democracy International's ECI application is a step in the right direction, enabling European citizens to keep track of ongoing European Citizen's Initiatives and lend their support to important issues in an easy way. Democracy isn't free though. In order for the ECI application to exist on as many platforms as possible Democracy International needs our help to pay for development time.

So let's all pitch in, with the hope that the ECI app will help make the voice of all European citizens even louder."
