Gerald Häfner

Gerald Häfner is one of the central people who founded Democracy International as a registered association in June 2011. Gerald Häfner also established Democracy International’s partner organisation Mehr Demokratie e.V. (Germany). 

Häfner was a Member of the German Parliament for ten years. Also, he was Chairman and CEO of the Greens in Bavaria. Gerald Häfner is the co-founder of several foundations including “Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur” and “Petra-Kelly-Stiftung“. Gerald Häfner was a Member of European Parliament during the legislature period 2009 - 2014.
