Citizens' Assembly Germany's Role in the World

The use of citizens‘ assemblies to complement representative democracy has known a true boom in 2020, with examples popping up all around the world.

 

 

 

In Germany, the Bundestag has commissioned an official citizens‘ assembly for the first time ever, which will see randomly selected citizens discuss „Germany‘s role in the world“ and come up with legislative proposals.

Our partner Mehr Demokratie was responsible for implementing the citizens’ assembly, while Democracy International was in charge of the international communications and PR.
