Democracy International has a new logo
Since 1st September 2012 two ascending, pastel green leaves embody the central theme of Democracy International, which is to strengthen direct democracy in Europe and the world.
Cologne artist Uta Schotten had designed the new image in close involvement from the board of Democracy International. The leaves express the character of democracy as an ever growing concept that has to be cherished, nurtured and carefully observed in order to be alive. The new logo replaces the orange butterfly that had accompanied Democracy International over the past ten years while the organization was a loose network of democracy activists. The new logo goes along with the foundation of Democracy International as a registered association (“eingetragener Verein”) in June 2011.
On Saturday, 1st September, Democracy International presented the new logo at the regional assembly of Mehr Demokratie, North Rhine Westfalia, in Bochum. Mehr Demokratie is a long-standing partner of Democracy International. The global coalition for direct democracy is currently working on relaunching its website. Democracy International will soon introduce with the new visual design.
