On 22 September 2013 German citizens elected a new parliament. Mehr Demokratie made use of this event to campaign for the introduction of the citizen-initiated referendum at federal level, or, briefly in German, the "Volksentscheid - bundesweit!".

These were the main actions of the campaign, which a representative of Mehr Demokratie coordinated for each of the 299 constituencies in Germany:

• Writing letters to editors
• Getting in contact with local politicians
• Joining public debates
• Signature gathering
  

In addition, Mehr Demokratie was touring through Germany with a huge, inflatable cube, which demonstrated the demand to introduce the citizen-initiated referendum in Germany. Below a video of the campaign (in German):
